Instead of the normal six ray asterism this Sapphire shows a 12 ray star. Additional to the Rutile needles which are normally contained in Star Sapphire this gem has smallest inclusions of Hematite - both together are causing the 12 ray star effect.
12 ray Star Sapphires are extremely rare - this Star Sapphire is absolutely untreated and shows a fine star which is much better visible in nature than on the photos.
